About

Solaris Design Center is proud to be Curaçao’s only purveyor of exclusive, tailor-made top-quality soft furnishings. With a mega assortment of curtain and upholstery fabrics from a collection of Europe’s finest fabric design houses and a full-fledge soft furnishings factory in which our team members Nia and Muriella work magic with their sewing machines, we can make tailor-made soft furnishing solutions.

Solange Lesire BNI; Executive Director
Solange is the drive behind Solaris Design Center although her real heart lies with the architectural firm SIAC N.V.
“You never get a second chance to make a first impression. That’s why many customers consider buying our exclusive products in the first place, to make that first impression count. But what I believe makes them stick with us is that they get much more than quality products. Our team is very resourceful in coming up with ideas and solutions. We search the world for the highest quality, latest trends, provide the best guarantees and combine countless years of experience to create an artful combination. I never rest until the customer is satisfied. ”

Farah Ayoubi; Marketing & Communications Manager
“I am still amazed at the huge variety of products that Solaris has to offer. There is nothing that Solange can´t supply her customers with. It is fascinating to work for a company at which the sky is the limit. Every challenge is met with enthusiastic determination to come up with solutions that are durable and in the end the result is always of unparalleled exclusive quality.¨

Nia; Senior Workshop Assitant
Nia is our workshop ´Wizard´; her creations look as if she waved a magic wand and made them to perfection. Without her we would make endless misjudgments in time and amount of fabrics needed to complete an order.
“ In all my years behind the sewing machine I cannot remember ever not having finished a job on-time. I make sure I know exactly what steps I have to take to get each project finished, so I take them all into account when I advise our sales team when they make promises to a customer. I feel I owe it to the customers who expect the highest possible standards to provide an honest timeframe. I like to make difficult things because I love the challenge. Just when I feel like I won’t get it just right, that’s when I always nail it. ”

Muriella; Workshop Assistant
A centipede by heart, Muriella assists Nia and Solange and knows every detail requested by our clients in the showroom.
”I am happiest when I can assist a client in the showroom. They may think that they’re just another customer, but I see a person wishing to make something unique. Someone who needs my help in choosing that one perfect fabric. I know where to find everything, the key is to get a feeling of what the customer is looking for. It’s all about giving personal service and when I find myself working on that particular order at a later stage I feel like I’m creating a piece of art.”

Edmundo; Technician

We make it a point of installing your curtains, blinds, panels or chairs because we know that although it seems simple, many factors can cause the much-dreaded ‘murphy’s law’ to kick in, and our experience lets you sit back and relax. All this would be a big hassle if it weren’t for Edmundo.
“My job requires a large dose of out-of-the-box thinking. I have used every trick in the book over the years to solve issues on the installation jobs and I’m still inventing new tricks every day. From combining rails to fit client budgets to making hand-made brackets for impossible nooks. In the interior decorator’s life there is always a crisis, because clients expect miracles. I perform them on a regular basis.”

Britt; Intern
Fresh from Holland, Britt infuses our team with fresh ideas.
“I have always been an avid interior design type of person and often toyed with the idea of becoming an interior designer. But I also like Marketing and have come to realize that, while interior decorating can be fun, it also has some aspects that I would not want to focus on. Styling is more my ‘thing’. I love the opportunity of learning to work in a small company, because I get the chance to do a little bit of everything which broadens my view and I love living in Curacao. I am learning a lot about the job and about myself every day.” Britt’s 3-D designs have delighted many clients so far.
